To provide a substrate pipe for separation membrane and a separation membrane element which can suppress defects of a separation membrane, and can suppress reduction in area such that a separation membrane can be formed, and a method for producing them.SOLUTION: A substrate tube for separation membrane includes a porous tube, a fitting member fixed to the porous tube, and a seal layer of which at least a part exists between the porous tube and the fitting member. The seal layer is continuously provided on an inner peripheral surface, an end face and an outer peripheral surface in the porous tube. The fitting member includes a fitting part which is inserted into the porous tube from the side of the end face and comes in contact with the seal layer. In the seal layer, a length Lin an axial direction of the porous tube in a portion provided on the outer peripheral surface is 1 time or more and 3 times or less a length Lin the axial direction in a portion inserted into the porous tube in the fitting part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
