To reduce occurrence of sound during switching operation to one time while reducing the driving force of the electric motor, in addition to shortening the switching operation time between the locked state and the unlocked state.SOLUTION: In a door lock device for a vehicle, when an active lever 121 is rotated as driven by an electric motor 131, a bush 160 is in sliding contact with a guide wall 135 while being positioned at the tip part 125a in the guide groove 15 as the worm wheel 133 rotates. When the active lever 121 is rotated without drive of the electric motor 131, with the worm wheel 133 in a stationary state, until the bush 160 in sliding contact with the guide wall 135 passes the apex part 135b, the bush moves in a guide groove 125 from the tip part 125a to the lever support shaft 121a side, against an energized force toward a side opposite to the lever support shaft 121a side. After passing the apex 125b, the bush is moved by the energized force toward the side opposite to the lever support shaft 121a side, in the guide groove 125 toward the tip part 125a and then the bush is held at the tip part 125a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
