To provide a composite damper which can visually confirm the deformation state of a steel damper shaft member and which is easy to install and requires a small installation space.SOLUTION: The composite damper of the present invention is a composite damper that receives an axial load connecting both ends, and comprises an axial force member having a closed cross section in a cross section perpendicular to the axial direction, a plurality of buckling stiffeners disposed inside the axial force members, and a viscoelastic body placed between the plurality of buckling stiffeners and deformed by the axial load.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
