FOREIGN OBJECT DETECTION SYSTEM AND METHOD
To provide a foreign object detection system and a method capable of improving safety by greatly reducing a blind spot when a vehicle is present in a loading and unloading room (for example, when the vehicle is loaded).SOLUTION: A detection transmission and reception device 22 and a foreign object detection device 24 are provided. The detection transmission and reception device 22 transmits and receives a control signal to/from a mechanical parking device 10 having a vehicle loading and unloading room 8 in/from which a vehicle 1 is loaded or unloaded. The vehicle 1 is equipped with an on-vehicle sensor S for detecting a foreign object located around the vehicle. The foreign object detection device 24 outputs a command signal to the vehicle 1, and receives vehicle detection data D from the vehicle 1 by the on-vehicle sensor S. The foreign object detection device 24 detects a foreign object in the vehicle loading and unloading room from the vehicle detection data D. The foreign objects mean a person, an animal, a baggage, or the like in the vehicle loading and unloading room.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
