To detect presence or absence of a recess on a road with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A road surface properties inspection system 10 comprises: a communication part 11 configured to receive, from each vehicle, information related to traveling sound collected by each of a plurality of vehicles 20 and 30 traveling a road when a road surface is wet in association with position information of each vehicle on the road at the point in time when the traveling sound is collected, and configured to receive, from each vehicle, information related to the traveling sound collected by each of the plurality of vehicles 20 and 30 traveling on the road when the road surface is dry in association with the position information of each vehicle on the road at the point in time when the traveling sound is collected; and a detection part 13 configured to perform comparison processing of comparing features of the traveling sound collected when the road surface is wet with features of the traveling sound collected when the road surface is dry, for a certain position on the road to thereby detect the presence or absence of a recess at a certain position on the road.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
