To provide a handle key type vehicle theft prevention device which causes a principle of a handlebar lock to be hardly understood, in which lock release does not require labor and time, and which can be placed anywhere after lock release.SOLUTION: A handle key type vehicle theft prevention device 1 comprises: a plurality of touch sensors 3 installed on a steering wheel 2 of a vehicle; a lock mechanism 5 for controlling rotation of the steering shaft 4; and a controller 6 for releasing the lock mechanism 5 based on an operation of the touch sensor 3, and controlling so as to allow rotation of the steering shaft 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
