To provide a silicon melting crucible to whose surface silicon hardly adheres.SOLUTION: A silicon melting crucible 1 is characterized by comprising a base material 10 consisting of graphite, and a sedimentary layer 20 of ceramic particles covering the surface of the base material. The ceramic particle is at least one kind of ceramic particles selected from the group consisting of BN, AlO, MgO. ZrO, YO, AlN, cordierite, mullite, steatite, and forsterite, and the thickness of the sedimentary layer is 0.1 to 5 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
