To provide a work analyzing apparatus and work analyzing method for outputting information for enabling comprehensive recognition of an estimation result of work.SOLUTION: A work analyzing apparatus acquires state data showing states of a work machine at a plurality of time points; on the basis of the acquired state data, identifies categories of work of the work machine for each of the plurality of time points and compiles the categories of work in time series; compiles the identified categories of work in time series; and outputs information by which an estimation result of the work of the work machine can be recognized comprehensively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
