To provide a honeycomb molded body that can further suppress the occurrence of a crack during firing.SOLUTION: A honeycomb molded body containing a ceramic raw material comprising a columnar honeycomb structure having a plurality of rectangular cells defined by a partition wall and extending from a first bottom surface to a second bottom surface to form a flow path and an outer peripheral part having the outer peripheral part X in which the partition wall is covered with an outer peripheral wall and an outer peripheral part Y in which the partition wall is exposed, has a tapered part in which the outer peripheral part X gradually decreases in thickness as the outer peripheral part X approaches a boundary part with the outer peripheral part Y, and requires a length of one or more times the average cell pitch in an outer peripheral direction until the thickness of the outer peripheral wall is halved in the tapered part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3-1
