To provide a water supply maintenance method capable of performing an operation of replacing an existing elevated water tank with another elevated water tank while maintaining the water supply.SOLUTION: The water supply maintenance method of the present invention being a water supply maintenance method at the time when an elevated water tank 200 is replaced, comprises steps of: supplying a rear-stage water supply pipe 40 with water via a detour pipe part 70 while supplying the rear-stage water supply pipe 40 with water from the elevated water tank 200 and connecting a front-stage water supply pipe 10 and the rear-stage water supply pipe 40 by the detour pipe part 70; replacing the elevated water tank 200 with a different elevated water tank 300 after stopping the circulation of water from the front-stage water supply pipe 10 to the elevated water tank while supplying the rear-stage water supply pipe 40 with water via the detour pipe part 70, and resuming the circulation of water from the front-stage water supply pipe 10 to the different elevated water tank 300 to supply the rear-stage water supply pipe 40 with water from the front-stage water supply pipe 10 via the different elevated water tank 300; and removing the detour pipe part 70 after stopping the circulation of the water of the detour pipe part 70 while supplying the rear-stage water supply pipe 40 with water via the different elevated water tank 300.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
