To provide a thumb turn device that does not require a tool and can be switched between right and left sides while attached to a lock or door.SOLUTION: A thumb turn device 10 of the present invention includes a thumb gear 30, a switching member 40, an engagement mechanism 50, and a switching mechanism 52 that switches the switching member 40 positioned on the thumb gear 30 by the engagement mechanism 50 to a right hand position Pr and a left hand position Pl. The switching mechanism 52 comprises a restricting portion 56 in which the relative position of the switching member 40 with respect to the thumb gear 30 is switched by allowing the rotation of the thumb gear 30 while preventing the rotation of the switching member 40 at a restricting position where the switching member 40 and the restricting portion 56 contact each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
【課題】本発明は、工具を要さず、かつ錠前や扉に取り付けられた状態で左右勝手の切り替えを行い得るサムターン装置の提供を目的とした。【解決手段】本発明のサムターン装置１０は、サムギア３０と、切替部材４０と、係合機構５０と、係合機構５０によりサムギア４０に位置決めされた切替部材４０を、右勝手位置Ｐｒ及び左勝手位置Ｐｌに相互に切り替える切替機構５２とを有し、切替機構５２が、規制部５６を備え、切替部材４０と規制部５６とが接触する規制位置において、切替部材４０の回転を阻止しつつサムギア３０の回転を許容することにより、サムギア３０に対する切替部材４０の相対位置が切り替えられることを特徴とする。【選択図】図７
