To provide a ceramic hole-forming particle material that can form uniform holes in a ceramic body and can effectively suppress the reduction of strength of ceramic body, when used as a raw material of ceramic body.SOLUTION: Ceramic hole-forming particles according to the present invention include a plurality of particles, in which an average compressive elasticity modulus when compressing the particles up to 20% at 25°C is not less than 2000 N/mm, and an average compression recovery rate of the particles is not less than 50%. The ceramic hole-forming particles do not include coarse particles having a particle size not less than 1.7-fold of the average particle diameter of the particles, or the ceramic hole-forming particles include 0.0002% or less of the coarse particles having the particle size not less than 1.7-fold of the average particle diameter of the particles in 100% of the total number of the particles.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
