To provide a drive device capable of avoiding an occurrence of a slack in a lifting cord of an intermediate rail.SOLUTION: Provided is a drive device having first and second drive shafts 11, 12 and a clutch device 38. The clutch device has a clutch 41 and first and second movement members 39, 40. The clutch does not transfer the rotation of the second drive shaft to the first drive shaft in a non-coupling state, and transfers the rotation of the second drive shaft to the first drive shaft in a coupling state. The first and second movement members move along a shaft center of the first and second drive shafts with the rotation of the first and second drive shafts, respectively. When the second movement member is moved with the rotation of the second drive shaft to press the first movement member and the first movement member is moved slidably in one direction along the shaft center of the first drive shaft in the non-coupling state, the clutch is moved slidably with the sliding movement into the coupling state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
