To simplify a facility used for dismantling a structure and to reduce a space required for dismantling work.SOLUTION: A method for dismantling a soundproof tank 5 which houses a transformer body 3 in a housing space having an asbestos layer 11 on at least a part of an inner wall at an original installation position, includes: a transferring step of transferring only the soundproof tank 5 to another place; a removing step of removing the asbestos layer 11 from the soundproof tank 5 in the other place; and a dismantling step of dismantling the soundproof tank 5 after the removing step.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
