To provide highly durable castable refractory with suppressed peeling wear.SOLUTION: A castable refractory, which comprises 4.0 to 8.0 mass% of MgO refractory raw material, 0.5 to 1.0 mass% of SiOrefractory raw material, and balance of refractory raw material consisting of AlOand unavoidable components, of which 0.5 to 3.0 mass%, based on the total of 100 mass% of the refractory raw materials, of the MgO refractory raw material is MgO powder having a maximum particle diameter of 1 μm or less, and of which 2.0 to 10.0 mass%, based on the total of 100 mass% of the refractory raw materials, of AlOrefractory raw material is AlOpowder having a maximum particle diameter of 1 μm or less, wherein the castable refractory further contains 0.10 to 1.00 mass% of a polyvalent metal salt of an oxycarboxylic acid and 0.9 to 1.8 mass% of hydroxyapatite having a maximum particle size of 10 μm or less, in which the amounts of the polyvalent metal salt and the amount of the hydroxyapatite are based on the total of 100 mass% of the refractory raw materials without including the oxycarboxylic acid and the hydroxyapatite, and wherein the castable refractory does not contain alumina cement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
