To provide a steel beam capable of achieving a desired height positional relationship without adjusting an upper flange of another steel beam which is joined orthogonally and its own upper flange.SOLUTION: In a steel beam (10) in which an upper flange (11) and a lower flange (12) are connected by a web (13), a gusset plate 20 extending upward from the lower flange is provided, and the gusset plate 20 includes a plate body portion 21 provided with thread holes (23) and formed in a plate shape which extends in the upward direction while being orthogonal to the web (13), and a plate shape guide piece portion 22 extending from an upper end of the plate body portion 21 to one side while being orthogonal to the plate body portion 21 and parallel to the upper flange (11). The plate body portion 21 and the guide piece portion 22 are projected to the outer side and on the opposite side of the web (13) beyond the upper flange (11).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
