To provide a sound absorption unit and a sound absorption structure with a sound absorbable frequency band.SOLUTION: A sound absorption unit comprises: a first member having one or more first opening(s) for Helmholtz resonance; and a second member which is disposed above the first member, is made in a tabular shape or a sheet-like shape, has one or more second opening(s) overlapped with the one or more first opening(s) in a plan view, in which a peripheral edge(s) of the one or more second opening(s) is matched with the peripheral edge of the first opening(s) or is positioned on an outer side, and which is constituted of a porous material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
