To provide a hand wash basin capable of facilitating cleaning of a garbage receiving part provided in a drain pipe of the hand wash basin.SOLUTION: A hand wash basin includes: a bowl 130 for receiving washing water; a drain outlet 135 that is provided in the bowl; a drain pipe 160 that connects the drain outlet and a sewer pipe 310 together and that discharges the washing water, discharged from the drain outlet, to the sewer pipe; and a garbage receiving part 180 that is provided midway through a drain passage by the drain pipe and that receives garbage in the washing water. The garbage receiving part comprises a filtration part 181 that is installed on the drain passage and that filters out the garbage from the washing water, and a cylinder part 182, the one end of which is connected to the drain pipe, the other end of which has an opening for extracting the filtration part, and which has an opening-side end provided in a position higher than a drain pipe-side end.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
