To provide a submerged nozzle for continuous casting of steel, which is highly effective for alumina adhesion prevention.SOLUTION: In a submerged nozzle for continuous casting of steel according to the present invention, a nozzle operation surface brought into contact with at least molten steel is partially or wholly made of a refractory material that is composed of 55-80 mass% of calcium zirconate-based raw material, 5-15 mass% of magnesia-alumina spinel raw material, 5-20 mass% of alumina raw material and 5-35 mass% of carbon raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
