To provide a vibration suppression device suitable for suppression of vibration of high-rise buildings.SOLUTION: A vibration suppression device includes: a vibration suppression device 2 which is installed on a high-rise building S having a natural period of a low-order mode of two seconds or longer and suppresses vibration of the high-rise building S; a displacement detector 5 which detects displacement between the high-rise building S and a ground surface G; and a controller 7 which performs control to suppress vibration of the low-order mode of the high-rise building S on the basis of displacement detected by the displacement detector 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
