To suppress the increase of ultimate strength against the progress of deformation while securing rigidity.SOLUTION: A bearing wall 10 comprises a frame material 12 having: a pair of vertical members 18 arranged at intervals in the horizontal direction of a building and extending in the vertical direction of the building; and a pair of horizontal members 20 arranged at intervals in the vertical direction of the building and connecting the pair of vertical members 18 in the horizontal direction of the building. The bearing wall 10 further comprises: a wooden face material 22 formed in a plate shape using a wooden material; and a steel plate 24 formed in a plate shape using a metallic material, having a plurality of opening parts 26 arranged at intervals in the vertical direction of a building, and fixed to the frame material 12 together with the wooden face material 22 in a state of being joined to the wooden face material.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
