DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICE AND DISTANCE MEASURING METHOD
To measure the distance from a vehicle to a portable device simply with high accuracy.SOLUTION: When a portable device (10) is detected at a prescribed reference position that is set to a vehicle (1), a lapse time from when a radio wave is transmitted to the portable device till when a reply is received is measured, which is then stored in memory as a reference lapse time. Thereafter, a lapse time from when a radio wave is transmitted to the portable device till when a reply is received is measured, a time difference between the obtained lapse time and the reference lapse time is calculated, and the distance from the vehicle to the portable device is calculated on the basis of the obtained time difference. Once this is done, there is no need to find in advance the time required for a portable device to reply after receiving a radio wave for each portable device and there is no need for measuring a radio wave received time or transmitted time on the portable device side, thus making it possible to measure the distance from the vehicle to the portable device simply with high accuracy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
【課題】車両から携帯機までの距離を簡単に且つ精度良く計測する。【解決手段】車両(1)に対して設定された所定の基準位置で携帯機(10)が検知されると、携帯機に電波を送信して返信があるまでの経過時間を計測して基準経過時間として記憶しておく。その後、携帯機に電波を送信して返信があるまでの経過時間を計測し、得られた経過時間と基準経過時間との時間差を算出して、得られた時間差に基づいて、車両から携帯機までの距離を算出する。こうすれば、携帯機が電波を受信して返信するまでに要する時間を携帯機毎に予め求めておく必要や、電波の受信時刻や送信時刻を携帯機側で計測する必要もないので、簡単に且つ精度良く、車両から携帯機までの距離を計測可能となる。【選択図】図7
