To provide a distance measuring device that allows measures against relay attacks to be appropriately taken even under environment in which distance measuring accuracy deteriorates.SOLUTION: A distance measuring device 100 includes a device 1 provided on a vehicle and a device 2 provided on a key, and calculates distance between the vehicle and the key based on carrier phase detection. At least one of the device 1 and the device 2 is configured so that transmission power at which a plurality of distance measuring signals are transmitted when the key is inside the vehicle is set smaller than transmission power at which the plurality of first distance measuring signals are transmitted when the key is outside the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
