To construct using a simple construction machine when installing a membrane material in a large structure.SOLUTION: A method of installing a flexible membrane material 21 in a wall body 2 so as to cover an upper face opening of the cylindrical wall body 2 extending vertically includes: a membrane material folding step (S4) of folding the membrane material 21 where a plurality of attaching jigs 30 are installed on its upper face; a membrane material transporting step (S6) of transporting the folded membrane 21 to one side of an upper end portion of the wall body 2; a first linear member erection step (S7) of bridging a first linear member 41 between one side and the other side of the upper end portion of the wall body 2; a membrane material expanding step (S8) of expanding the folded membrane material 21 in a state where the first linear member 41 is attached to the attaching jig 30 from one side to the other side of the upper end portion of the wall body 2 along the first linear member 41; and a membrane material fixing step (S9) of fixing a peripheral edge portion 21b of the expanded membrane material 21 to the upper end portion of the wall body 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
