To provide a conveying method capable of suppressing abrasion and breakage of a belt of a belt conveyor.SOLUTION: There is provide a conveying method using a belt conveyor having a belt which is driven in the conveying direction of a thing to be conveyed. The method comprises the steps of: supplying a loaded article for protection having a first particle diameter to a belt under operation, thereby forming a protective layer composed of the loaded article for protection on the belt conveyor; and then supplying a hard loaded article having a second particle diameter larger than the first particle diameter to the belt having the protective layer under operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
