To provide a replacement type suspended scaffold that can be preferably adopted in a construction environment hard to, directly below a protection work installation portion, transiently arrange the suspended scaffold after basic assembly or to temporarily place it, and an erection method therefor.SOLUTION: An erection method comprises a first replacement step of replacing cables (7) of lifting machines (11) with hanging members (14) of loading and carrying devices (12) after rising a suspended scaffold (1) to a high-place work level by tractive forces of the lifting machines, and a second replacement step of replacing the hanging members of the loading and carrying devices with hanging members (8) for supporting scaffold boards after horizontally or laterally displacing the suspended scaffold to a protection work installation position by the loading and carrying devices.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
