To provide a sewage treatment system that comprises a microorganism material production apparatus that treats returned sludge or the like and produces a microorganism material that works actively in a biological reaction tank, increases the amount of organic matter treated in the sewage, and improves the precipitability of flock.SOLUTION: A sewage treatment system comprises: a microorganism material production apparatus for producing microorganism materials containing spores of specific gram-positive aerobic microorganisms by subjecting moisture-controlled sludge obtained from sewage discharged from households, factories, businesses, etc. to aerobic fermentation, wherein the aerobic fermentation is conducted at a temperature of 60°C to 110°C with oxygen supplied by gram-positive aerobic microorganisms to decompose and kill gram-negative anaerobic and passive anaerobic microorganisms; a microorganism material activation apparatus for converting the microorganism materials into active microorganism materials through germination of the spores contained in the microorganism materials; and an active microorganism material feeder for supplying the active microorganism materials to the first half of a biological treatment tank and maintaining the MLSS of at least a part of the sewage in the tank at 2,000 mg/L to 4,000 mg/L.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
