To obtain a parking assist device that reduces occurence of situations where a landmark disposed at a parking lot is not detected and thus a vehicle cannot enter/leave into/from a car barn.SOLUTION: In a landmark update mode operating during parking, a landmark is periodically detected by a landmark position detection unit 307 from a camara image of the landmark disposed at a parking lot and taken by a camera unit 304 mounted in a vehicle. In addition, a detection ratio of the landmark for corresponding time is updated based on detection results of the landmark in a landmark position storage unit 305, and in an entering/leaving mode supporting entering/leaving of the vehicle into/from a car barn, only when a detection ratio of the landmark corresponding to time information detected by a time detection unit 303 is equal to or greater than a predetermined detection ratio threshold, the landmark position is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
