To provide an inexpensive movement limiting device that can limit the movement of an upper edge of a door body to a downstream side and an upstream side without impairing the advantages of a hinge device having a double hinge structure, prevents a connecting metal fitting from rotating excessively, and does not require position adjustment.SOLUTION: A hinge device 4 in an upper hinge type flap gate comprises a door body side hanging metal fitting 6, a door stop side hanging metal fitting 8, and a connecting metal fitting 9. The connecting metal fitting 9 is an L-shaped metal plate, and an upper shaft support portion 10 is arranged at a corner of the connecting metal fitting 9, and a lower shaft support portion 11 is arranged at one end. Then, the upper shaft support portion 10 and the lower shaft support portion 11 are pivotally supported by the door stop side hanging metal fitting 8 and the door body side hanging metal fitting 6, respectively.
