To provide a vehicle operation detector capable of inhibiting opening/closing actuation of an opening/closing body from being caused by erroneous detection of a user's operation.SOLUTION: A control circuit determines that authentication operation on a first sensor electrode has been performed in the case that a static first sensor value C1s becomes equal to or larger than a first approach determination value Cth1 (step 202: YES), each of ratios R12, R13 becomes equal to or larger than a ratio determination value Rth (step 204: YES), each of a dynamic second sensor value C2d and a dynamic third sensor value C3d is smaller than a second approach determination value Cth2 (step 205: YES), each of a dynamic second sensor separation value ΔC2d and a dynamic third sensor separation value ΔC3d becomes equal to or larger than a first separation determination value Δth1 (step 206: YES), and, after that, a static first sensor separation value ΔC1s becomes smaller than a second separation determination value Δth2 (step 209:YES).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
