To provide an embedding type snow melting device and a snow melting method capable of melting a snow mass by a rotating snow melting cylinder in a heated state, and allowing snowmelt water to flow through a stirring snow melting tube in a heated state to melt the snow mass while crushing it, thereby efficiently melting snow in a short time.SOLUTION: A snow melting chamber 6 is defined between a pair of storage chambers 5, 7 by partition walls 3, 4 inside a tank body 2. The tank body 2 is provided with a water supply pipe 9 and drainage pipes 10A to 10C communicating with the snow melting chamber 6, and is provided with a fixed sprinkling pipe 25 and movable sprinkling pipes 28, 28. A burner 22, being installed in the one side storage chamber 5, blows combustion gas from one side opening of a rotary snow melting cylinder 17 provided in the snow melting chamber 6 to the other side opening while both ends in the axial direction are supported by the partition walls 3, 4. A plurality of stirring snow melting pipes 19 are provided in a state of penetrating the rotating snow melting cylinder 17 in the radial direction. A stirring body 21 is fitted in the stirring snow melting pipe 19 so as to be slidable in the axial direction and rotatable in the circumferential direction. A drive motor 24 for the rotary snow melting cylinder 17 is arranged in the other side storage chamber 7.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
