To secure an interval as a useful clearance for absorbing longitudinal expansion and contraction of a chimney and improving earthquake resistance of the chimney between a lower stage side chimney unit and an upper stage side chimney unit in constructing the chimney.SOLUTION: A chimney unit is constituted of a connection step P1 for connecting an upper stage side chimney unit 10 to a lower stage side chimney unit 10 in a stacked state and a mounting step P2 for mounting the upper stage side chimney unit 10 connected to the lower stage side chimney unit 10 on a slab 72 in a suspended state. The connection step P1 includes a first operation S1 for inserting the insertion part 34 of the upper stage side chimney unit 10 into a sheath cylinder 33 of the lower stage side chimney unit 10, and a second operation S2 for determining the mounting height position of the upper stage side chimney unit 10 capable of holding an interval C between an upper end face 11 of the lower stage side chimney unit 10 and a lower end face 12 of the upper stage side chimney unit 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
