To provide a calcium sulfite-containing gypsum capable of obtaining a soil-improving material capable of maintaining a high uniaxial compressive strength while reducing elution of hexavalent chromium.SOLUTION: A calcium sulfite-containing gypsum contains calcium sulfite and has a peak intensity ratio in a diffraction pattern obtained by powder XRD using CuKα rays satisfying formula (1): Ia/Ib<2 ...
