To provide a resin building material having a surface layer made of unused resin material formed on a substrate made of recycled resin material, without wasteful use of the unused resin material.SOLUTION: A resin building material has a substrate made of recycled resin material and a surface layer made of unused resin material. The substrate has at least two surfaces with a different surface area. Of the two surfaces, the surface having a smaller surface area has a thickness of the surface layer of unused resin material, set to be smaller than the thickness of the surface layer of unused resin material which the surface having a larger surface area.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
