To improve the safety of a remote keyless system.SOLUTION: A portable device according to an embodiment includes: a portable device receiver equipped with a 3-axis antenna and receiving a request signal including a measurement signal from an on-vehicle device; a portable device transmitter transmitting an answer signal to the on-vehicle device; and a portable device control unit controlling the portable device receiver and the portable device transmitter. The portable device control unit includes a received signal strength calculation unit that calculates the received signal strength of each axis of the signal for measurement, and a relay attack determination unit that determines whether a relay attack has taken place based on the ratio of the received signal strength of each axis of the signal for measurement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
