ULTRASHORT FIBER AQUEOUS DISPERSION AND PORE FORMING MATERIAL FOR POROUS MATERIAL
To provide an ultrashort fiber or aqueous dispersion of the ultrashort fiber for manufacturing a porous body having a large specific surface property and used as a pore forming material in manufacturing a porous body for supporting an automobile exhaust gas purification catalyst.SOLUTION: The ultrashort fiber aqueous dispersion contains 12-55 wt.% of ultrashort fibers. The ultrashort fiber is composed of a thermoplastic resin having an ignition point of 700°C or less, and the average fiber length is 10-200 μm, the average fiber diameter is 1-30 μm, and the indexes d10, d90, and d100 of the particle size distribution satisfy the following expression: 1.0≤d10×d90/d100.SELECTED DRAWING: None
【課題】 自動車排ガス浄化触媒担持用の多孔体を製造するための造孔材として用いられる極短繊維またはその水分散液であって、大きな比表面性を有する多孔体を製造することのできる極短繊維またはその水分散液を提供する。【解決手段】 ７００℃以下の発火点を有する熱可塑性樹脂からなり、平均繊維長が１０〜２００μｍ、平均繊維径が１〜３０μｍかつ粒度分布の指標ｄ１０、ｄ９０およびｄ１００が下記式を満足する極短繊維を１２〜５５重量％の濃度で含有することを特徴とする、極短繊維水分散液。１．０≦ｄ１０×ｄ９０／ｄ１００【選択図】 なし
