To provide a fall prevention tool that is attached so as to prevent a decrease in strength at the upper end of a buried structure and a fall prevention tool installation method.SOLUTION: A fall prevention tool attached to a buried structure 900 provided with a waterway in a manner that prevents the tool from falling into the waterway, comprises: a base member 100 attached to an upper end 930 of a side wall 920 of the buried structure 900; an intermediate member 200 attached to the base member 100; and a fence member connected to the intermediate member 200. The base member 100 includes: an outer wall 120 located on an outer surface 931 of the upper end 930 of the side wall 920 of the buried structure 900; an upper wall 110 located on an upper surface 932 of the upper end 930 of the side wall 920 of the buried structure 900; and an inner wall located on an inner surface 933 of the upper end 930 of the side wall 920 of the buried structure 900. The base member 100 is attached to cover the upper end 930 of the side wall 920 of the buried structure 900 by the outer wall 120, the upper wall 110, and the inner wall.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
