To provide a load bearing wall that is used for a wooden skeleton and can maintain a stable bearing force until the large deformation time while preventing a breakage from occurring on a junction between the load bearing wall and the wooden skeleton and skeleton components around the junction.SOLUTION: A load bearing wall is a metallic load bearing wall used for a wooden skeleton and has a face plate part on which openings are formed in vertical direction so as to be spaced away from each other, a pair of side plate parts that protrude in a thickness direction of the face plate part from both ends in width direction orthogonal to the vertical direction of the face plate part, extend along the vertical direction, and are connected to column materials adjacent to each other of the wooden skeleton, respectively, and an annular rib that is provided along a marginal part of an opening of the face plate part and protrudes in the thickness direction from the marginal part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
