To provide a footstool that secures high stability in use by enhancing strength of an entire top plate and that enables compact folding.SOLUTION: In the stepstool 1, a top plate 4 and a second side plate 22 are connected by a connecting member 5, and the connecting member 5 is formed by rotatably connecting the top plate side connecting part 51 and a side plate side connecting part 52. An end part on one end side in the top plate side connecting part 51 is rotatably connected to the top plate 4, and an end part on the other end side in the side plate side connecting part 52 is rotatably connected to the inner face upper part of the second side plate 22. By rotatably displacing the top plate 4 on the upper side of the second side plate 22, the connecting member 5 makes the second side plate 22 receded from the first side plate 21 to make a usage state. By rotatably displacing the top plate 4 from the side of the second side plate 22 toward the side of the first side plate 21, the connecting member 5 brings the second side plate 22 close to the first side plate 21 to make a storage state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
