To provide a footstool capable of keeping its stable state even if a force acts thereon in an oblique direction or a rotating direction when a worker goes up and down.SOLUTION: A footstool stabilizing mechanism 10a of the present invention, which can be mounted on a footstool 20a having a top plate 21 and a base 22, includes a mounting part 12 which can be mounted on the base 22 of the footstool 20a and a flat board 11 which can be projected from the base 22 to an outside floor surface when viewed from above. Alternatively, a footstool 20a has a top plate 21, a base 22, and a stabilizing mechanism 10a, in which the stabilizing mechanism 10a includes a mounting part 12 which can be mounted on the base 22 and a flat board 11 which can be extended from the base 22 toward an outside floor surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
