To provide an alkali metal removal method for effectively removing alkali metals from flying ashes of woody biomass ashes to effectively utilize the alkali metals as a cement raw material.SOLUTION: A method for removing alkali metals from flying ashes of woody biomass combustion ashes includes: a step (a) of classifying flying ashes into fine powder and coarse powder; a step (b) of acquiring a pulverized object by pulverizing a surface part of the coarse powder that is acquired from the step (a); a step (c) of classifying the pulverized object that is acquired from the step (b) into pulverized fine powder and pulverized coarse powder; a step (d) of acquiring a heat treatment object by heating the pulverized fine powder that is acquired from the step (c) together with a chlorine source; and a step (e) of washing with water the fine powder that is acquired from the step (a) and the heat treatment object that is acquired from the step (d).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
