To provide a locking/unlocking device that can be in a smart form in such a manner of leaving a mechanism section, other than a gripping part, being remained as an existing part and replacing the gripping part, and to provide a fitting.SOLUTION: A locking/unlocking device 10, which is provided in a sliding sash or a door body that are installed in a building opening, includes a base part 140 fixed to the sliding sash or the door body and a gripping part 150 supported by the base part 140 in a pivotal manner. The gripping part 150 is equipped with a sensor 1573 for detecting a rotational state of the gripping part 150 and a power supply part 156 for supplying electricity to the sensor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
