To provide a pillar cap mounting structure and a flip-up gate door, which can easily configure a vent hole that is not noticeable in appearance.SOLUTION: In a pillar cap mounting structure, a pillar cap 28 is composed of a cap body 281 arranged so as to face an opening end of a columnar support 2, an abutting part 282 protruding downward from the cap body 281, and an outer peripheral piece 283 extending below the abutting part 282 at a position on the outer peripheral side with respect to the abutting part 282. The abutting part 282 comes into contact with the opening end of the columnar support 2. At least a part of the outer peripheral piece 283 is arranged so as to be separated from the columnar support 2 on the outer peripheral side. A ventilated gap is formed between the cap body 281 and the outer peripheral piece 283 and the opening end of the columnar support 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
