To provide a suspending material unit with a ceiling substrate resisting against a vertical compression force and a suspended ceiling structure.SOLUTION: A suspending material unit 10 has a suspending bolt 18 held to an upper structure, a compression stiffener 17 attached to the suspending bolt 18 and having a characteristic of non-resonance in an earthquake, and a suspending member connection metal fitting 4 attached to the suspending bolt 18. The suspending member connection metal fitting 4 has a leg member 42 directly receiving a vertically upward force from a ceiling material 12 and an angle adjusting part 46 capable of adjusting an inclined angle of the leg member 42 to the ceiling material 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
