To provide a beam joining structure capable of efficiently exhibiting a designed strength with an easy construction, and to provide a building.SOLUTION: A beam joining structure of this invention comprises a first beam, a second beam whose end is joined to a center portion of the first beam in a longer direction, a gusset plate joined to a web of the first beam, and a compressive force transmission member fixed to a lower flange of the second beam. A web of an end portion of the second beam is joined to the gusset plate. The compressive force transmission member comprises a fixed portion which is one end portion and which is fixed to the lower flange of the second beam, and a bearing which is another end portion and which is in contact with the web of the first beam. The bearing portion is fixed in a contact state with the web of the first beam.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
