To provide a sediment transport device and a sediment transport method allowing sediment transportation to be improved by suppressing jamming of sediment within a transportation pipe.SOLUTION: A sediment transportation device according to an embodiment is a sediment transportation device to transport sediment, having a steel pipe 12f connected to a transportation pipe transporting the sediment, and being provided with: an ejector sucking the sediment into the steel pipe 12f to transport the sediment to the transportation pipe; a compressor injecting compressed air for transporting the sediment to the steel pipe 12f of the ejector; and an auxiliary air device 20 directly injecting air R on at least an inner surface 12g of one of the transportation pipe and the steel pipe 12f.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
