To allow selection of a construction procedure according to the necessity of a construction site so that a lowermost riser 18 in the stairs S can be inserted into the riser insertion groove 8 of the side plate 1 from either of upper and lower sides.SOLUTION: A lowermost riser insertion groove 8A is a wide groove having a groove width such that a lowermost riser 18A can form an inclined posture inclined with respect to a vertical surface. By both of an upper insertion path R1 from a rear open end part 5 of a lowermost tread insertion groove 4A through the lowermost tread insertion groove 4A into the lowermost riser insertion groove 8A in which the upper-end part communicates with the lowermost tread insertion groove 4A, and a lower insertion path R2 from a lower open end part 10 of the lowermost riser insertion groove 8A to the inside of the lowermost riser insertion groove 8A, the lowermost riser 18A can be inserted into the lowermost riser insertion groove 8A while being in an inclined posture.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
