To provide a damper that is incorporated into structural members such as building braces to absorb vibration energy, which is a shear yield type damping damper with a compact configuration.SOLUTION: There is provided a damping damper 10 disposed between two divided members 21a and 21b formed by dividing a structural member of a building through which vibrations such as an earthquake are transmitted at an intermediate portion in the axial direction thereof, which has a first panel 11a and a second panel 11b. The damper includes a shear panel 11 having a cross-sectional shape so that the panels 11a and 11b are orthogonal to each other at the center of each other, a first connecting member 12 that connects both ends of the first panel 11a to one of the two divided members 21a, and a second connecting member 13 that connects both ends of the second panel 11b to the other 21b of the two divided members.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
