To provide a support and a method for installing the support capable of adjusting the inclination of a column member with an easy structure following the inclination of an installation surface.SOLUTION: A base plate comprising a base member mounted on an installation surface, a base post erected on the base member, and a column member externally fitted to the base post and fixed by a plurality of fastening members; the base post is formed with a screwing part screwed with the fastening member at a space in the height direction, and the column member is formed with a through-hole at a position corresponding to the screwing part; as an inclination adjustment mechanism for adjusting the inclination of the column member assembled to the base plate, a first inclination adjustment clearance is provided between the outer surface of the base post and the inner surface of the column member, and a second inclination adjustment clearance is provided between the fastening member and the through-hole.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
