To provide a sound insulation structure that realizes improvement of sound insulation of a building and a building with improved sound insulation.SOLUTION: A sound insulation structure 100 includes two long-axis shape ceiling joists 5, 5 in which edge surfaces 51, 51 face each other, and a base receiving member 1 that supports the ceiling joists 5, 5 in a state where the edge surfaces 51, 51 are separated from each other. The base receiving member 1 includes a first support body 11 that supports an end portion of one ceiling joist 5 in the longitudinal direction, a second support body 12 that supports an end portion of the other ceiling joist 5 in the longitudinal direction, and a sound insulating material 3 arranged between the first support body 11 and the second support body 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
